Papeete District Court |
Mask wearing |
The District Court of Papeete upheld the mask-wearing policy of the Government, just called for the precision of the governmental order to specify the temporal and geographical scope of the measure and the more exact wording of exemptions. |
During the second vawe of the global pandemic, 47 individuals contested the order of Tahiti Government to impose mask wearing mandate on individuals. The District Court of Papeete dismissed the claim and considered that the Government had the authority to implement such a measure. However, the court called the Government to amend the order and to specify the temporal and geographical scope of the measure; moreover, further precisions were also required to describe proper exemptions. For instance, contacts between parents and children should have been exempted from the scope of this measure with general applicability. |
