September 23. 2021.   High Court of Fiji Vaccination; labor law; right to work The High Court of Fiji strucked out a case concerning the compulsory Covid-19 vaccination of public servants because the applicants did not show up at the trial on proper time. The Government of Fiji announced that public servants should be dismissed from their position unless being vaccinated against Covid-19 until November 1. 2021. The Union of Teachers and also individual public servants challenged this decision and turned to the High Court for constitutional review. May 15. 2020.   High Court of Fiji Freedom of movement; night curfew; freedom of assembly The High Court of Fiji threw out fines against people breaching night curfew and restrictions on freedom of gathering during the first weeks of the public health emergency. The High Court of Fiji threw out 49 severe fines as cruel, disproportionate and degrading imposed on persons breaching the night curfew and the restrictions on freedom of gathering during the first vawes of the Covid-19 pandemic.
