April 9. 2021.   District Court of Reykjavík Freedom of movement The District Court of Reykjavík ruled that the Government of Iceland should not designate specific places for persons to spend the quarantine period. The Icelandic Government designated quarantine hotels as places either for Icelandic and foreign people entering into Iceland to spend mandatorily their quarantine period. The District Court of Reykjavík held that the Government could impose quarantine obligation, however, this period might be also spent outside from the designated places run by the authorities. Then, people were allowed to spend the quarantine period also in other proper venues, however, designated quarantine centres remained to host those who did not have other proper facilities to be isolated during the quarantine period.       https://www.covid.is/sub-categories/quarantine
